tetr is provided to you by tetr, LLC. (referred to as “tetr”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy). At tetr, we take your privacy seriously and are committed to transparency. If you have any questions, you are welcome to reach out through supportaay@tetr.app.
This is how we handle your data depending on the services you use at tetr. In all cases, we aim to prioritize your privacy and security.
tetr App
The tetr app can work offline-first, meaning that your data is stored locally on your device and there is no need to create an account to use the app.
Analytics
While using the application and its services, we in some cases collect anonymized usage data, which is crucial for us to improve and understand user needs. This data includes activities like launching the app, tapping parts of the UI, in-app purchases, screen visits, session durations, and other interactions within the app. Please note that all this information is fully anonymized and aggregated, meaning it cannot be traced back to any specific user.
It’s important to understand that our application does not gather data such as the content of your messages, names, surnames, email addresses, photos, or anything other content you type in within the app. Your personal entries and memories remain entirely private and under your control.
Furthermore, we also collect crash and performance reports to enhance the stability and overall performance of the app, ensuring you have the best experience possible.
We use this data to improve our app and services, and we do not share it with any third parties beyond this purpose. We do not sell your data.
Support and Feedback
When you reach out to us for support through email or our customer support contact form, you are asked to input your email address. However, we solely use your email address to communicate with you regarding support, feedback, or essential information.
Newsletter and Product Update Emails
When you sign up for our newsletter or product updates, we collect your email address and other information which you choose to provide. We use this information to send you our newsletter and other relevant information. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to gather anonymous usage data and crash reports. These services include:
- Amplitude. Data collected: app launch, screen visits, session duration, in-app purchases, and other interactions within the app.
- Posthog. Data collected: app launch, screen visits, session duration, in-app purchases, and other interactions within the app. We may also use Posthog to do A/B testing and launch certain features to a subset of users.
- Sentry. Data collected: errors, crash reports and performance metrics.
- RevenueCat. Data collected: in-app purchases and subscription data.
No personal or message data is collected by these services. All data is fully anonymized and aggregated; it cannot be traced back to any specific user.
tetr Profile and tetr Sync
The tetr app also provides optional services that require you to create an account. These services include tetr Profile and tetr Sync.
Accounts
tetr Profile is your account for tetr services, including account management and tetr Sync. When you create a tetr Profile, you can use it to sync your data across devices and access additional features. tetr Profile also lets you access your subscription and other account-related information across devices.
We work to limit the data we collect to the minimum necessary to provide you with the services you signed up for.
If you purchase tetr Pro or other services, we may associate it with your tetr Profile to process your payment and let you use your purchased. We do not store your payment information on our servers. We use a third-party service to process payments securely.
Account Creation
When you create an account with tetr, we use and store the data you provide during your account creation. This includes email, a display name and username which you provide on sign-up. We use this information to authenticate you and provide you with access to your account. Your email address can be used to communicate with you regarding your account, support, feedback, product or community updates and essential information. You can opt-out of receiving non-critical emails from us at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Your account information is stored securely on our servers and is not shared with any third parties beyond the services we use to provide tetr’s functionality. We do not sell your data or use it for any other purposes other than providing you with the services you signed up for.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at supportaay@tetr.app. When you delete your account, all your data will be permanently deleted from our servers. This includes all your entries, memories, and any other data associated with your account. We are working on providing a self-service account deletion feature in the future.
If you use the tetr app locally, this will not affect your local data and you will be able to export it as you could without an account. Please ensure you have backed up and unlinked your data from your account before deleting your account.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. tetr is not responsible for any data loss that may occur as a result of deleting your account.
tetr Sync
tetr Sync is a service that allows you to sync your data across devices. tetr Sync is an opt-in service, meaning you have to enable it in the app settings to use it.
With tetr Sync, your sensitive data in your messages, entries, and other data get end-to-end encrypted on device before being sent to our servers. This means that we cannot access your data, and only you can decrypt it. This encrypted data is then synced across devices and decrypted on-device. We do not have access to your encryption keys, and only you can decrypt your sensitive data.
If your subscription expires, your data will be kept for a period of time before being deleted. You will be notified before this happens. If you delete your account or cancel your subscription, your data will be deleted immediately.
Note that you will continue having access to your data on your local device even if your subscription expires or you delete your account although you will need to unlink your data from your account to continue using it locally beforehand. tetr is not responsible for any data loss that may occur as a result of deleting your account or canceling your subscription.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace this Policy at any time. This page will be updated with any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future. You should check this page from time to time and take note of any changes.
